Wix analytics: add cookie-free stats to your Wix site

Updated: October 14, 2026

Wix has built-in analytics, but many site owners want an independent second source of numbers, cookie-free tracking, or a simple weekly summary. Here's how to add LightMetrica to a Wix site.

Before you start

<script defer src="https://lightmetrica.com/lm.js" data-site="YOUR_ID"></script>

Add the code

  1. In your Wix dashboard, open Settings.
  2. Scroll to the Advanced section and click Custom Code.
  3. Click + Add Custom Code and paste the LightMetrica code.
  4. Under Add Code to Pages, choose All pages and Load code once.
  5. Under Place Code in, choose Head.
  6. Click Apply.

Check that it works

Open your published site on your phone or in another browser, then open the Real-time report in LightMetrica. The visit should appear within seconds. Wix sites switch pages without full reloads — LightMetrica tracks those page changes automatically.

To exclude your own visits, open your site once with ?lightmetric=ignore at the end of the address.

Wix Analytics or LightMetrica?

You don't have to choose. Wix Analytics knows about your store orders and bookings; LightMetrica gives you a fast, cookie-free view of traffic and sources, tracks calls and messenger clicks automatically, and writes a weekly AI Smart Report with recommendations. Many site owners use both.

FAQ

Why can't I see the Custom Code option? It's available on premium plans with a connected domain. On the free plan Wix doesn't allow adding your own code.

Will LightMetrica track my Wix store checkout? LightMetrica counts visits and page views on your site. Purchases are best tracked in Wix's own store reports.

Can I track clicks on a booking button? Phone, email and messenger links, file downloads and outbound links are tracked automatically. For other buttons, a custom goal requires adding an attribute or a small script, which is limited in the Wix editor.
